Designed and built with no expense spared, these innovative blanks are without doubt some of the best available.

Starting at the core of the blank we have our carbon helix core to create improved hoop strength and response with minimal weight. The tip section boasts our MRT (modulus replacement technology). This allows us to place glass where its needed and remove glass from where it’s not needed, leaving a blank tip area that is 25% lighter than previous models. The tip design improves response and strength at the same time.

The butt section has combined an intermediate modulus carbon with twill weave carbon finishing. This creates a super slim line section that is powerful with a robust and responsive nature.

As with all CTS blanks, the Makoi series is designed with extensive use of CAD to ensure we have a constant flex transition through the join to create a seamless loading curve that is not only sweet but very predictable. CTS is dedicated to making the CTS Makoi series the foremost surf casting rods available.

CTS Makoi blanks are of equal tip and handle length. As an example of the CTS attention to detail, CTS Makoi blank tips are branded with the label on the spine. This is on the inside of the curve and takes the frustration out of properly spineing a MRT tip (or a multi-modulus tip).
